VIDF Honors Wendy Whelan

Vail International Dance Festival honors Ms. Wendy Whelan, one of the most acclaimed ballerinas of all time.  Ms. Whelan's expansive career includes 30 years with New York City Ballet and 20 years performing at the Vail International Dance Festival.

A dinner reception will be held in the VPAC's May Gallery, following the Restless Creature performance on August 6.  A very limited number of tickets are available for the general public to attend this event, which will be attended by Ms. Whelan, and other Festival artists.

“Since our days at the School of American Ballet and dancing together at New York City Ballet, to working together on special performances and projects in Vail and elsewhere, Wendy has brought her unique artistry to bear on every collaboration. Her evolution as a modern ballerina always inspires choreographers and directors to break new ground, and I'm so pleased to continue to work with Wendy as she enters this new section of her career."
