| The Vail Valley Foundation will notify finalists by mid-April. The top 2 finalists will be selected to attend an interview with the June S. Kang committee. One scholarship will be awarded for the 2012 – 2013 academic year with plans to increase the number of scholarships in future years. Scholarship amount: $2,500/yr. over the course of two years Scholarship recipient will receive $2,500 for undergraduate tuition freshman and sophomore years to attend a college or university of his/her choice. In order for recipients to remain in good standing, they must adhere to the general scholarship criteria outlined by the Vail Valley Foundation scholarship criteria. A brief history: In 2010, the June S. Kang Love of the Arts committee and the Vail Valley Foundation established an endowment to guarantee perpetual funding of the June S. Kang Love of the Arts Scholarship. Initial partners who contributed funds to establish the endowment included the Arrowhead Community, Vail Valley Foundation, Vail Resorts, and many private donations in memoriam of June Kang. Eligible students: Applicants must meet all general criteria and show proven artistic ability in at least one of the art areas: dance, literature, music, theatre, traditional arts, and visual arts.
