Bud Light Street Beat: Chris Daniels & The Kings
Chris Daniels & the Kings are one of the world's best horn bands in the tradition of Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power and Booker T. and the Memphis Horns. Celebrating 23 years of R & B, funk, jump blues and rock n’ roll, Chris Daniels hits the Street Beat stage at Checkpoint Charlie to close out the concert series in style. The seven piece band has made a name for themselves touring overseas, playing for the Queen of Holland at the 50 Year VE Day Celebration and for 450,000 at Parkpop in Den Hague. They have had number one hits in Holland with their critically acclaimed CDs The Spark, Is My Love Enough, That's What I Like About The South, In Your Face and Louie Louie. Their “best of” album titled Choice Cuts became a top 5 hit on AC stations all across the United States. The band's newest release, 10, features the sounds of sweet soul and funky blues that is at the heart of the Kings’ music. It's a fine gumbo of Memphis horns, Texas blues, New Orleans punch and roots music that is get-down funk for your feet.
Both Volvo Grand Prizes will be given away at this concert. Residents of Eagle, Summit and Lake Counties with valid I.D. can register to win a 2008 Volvo C30 (must be present to win).
