STARS Rising Stars of the Opera

Recommended for grades 4 - 8

Rising Stars of the Opera offers a rare opportunity to experience remarkable young artists on the cusp of extraordinary careers. Watch these exciting young artists bring opera to life by presenting excerpts from world-class productions. Rising Stars of the Opera makes opera first accessible, then thrilling, to students.

The Richard Tucker Music Foundation is America's preeminent opera foundation, and will present four young singers who have been recognized as among the leading opera singers of the next generation. Featuring some of opera's most beloved arias, duets and ensembles by renowned composers, these superb artists will bring their magnificent voices to the stage.

Founded in 1975 following the death of Americas greatest tenor, Brooklyn-born Richard Tucker, the Richard Tucker Music Foundation has given more than $2 million to American opera singers through its awards program, nurturing them into the stars of tomorrow. The Tucker Foundation supports these artists through performance opportunities and presents community opera concerts and its celebrated annual Gala at Carnegie Hall. This promises to be an event of great singers and great singing.
