2014 American Ski Classic Home
America’s original Pro/Am celebrity ski event returns to Vail Mountain March 19-23 as the 2014 Korbel California Champagne American Ski Classic once again takes Golden Peak by storm.
The Korbel California Champagne American Ski Classic will once again feature a full slate of on-hill competitions including the Conway Cup community team race, Legends Giant Slalom and the Korbel Ford Cup celebrity team racing and the Future Legends Race.
The festivities off the racecourse will be equally enjoyable, with the Bud Light Mountains of Music free concert, Hold ‘em for Hope benefit dinner and auction and the Legends of Skiing banquet.
The 2014 Korbel American Ski Classic will officially kick off Wednesday, March 19, with the Conway Cup Community Team Race. In its third year, the Conway Cup presented by Korbel is a community race featuring 40 four-person teams in a dual-format race. The winning team will earn entry into the Korbel Ford Cup, along with VIP access and gift bags. The second and third place teams will also walk away with American Ski Classic swag, like VIP bags, social invitations or VIP access. All proceeds benefit the Conway Family Fund.
Some of the greatest names in ski racing history, including Olympic, World Championships and World Cup champions will continue the festivities on Thursday, as old rivalries are rekindled in the Legends of Skiing Giant Slalom competition, followed by a special edition of the Bud Light Mountains of Music free concert series. The Legends will then take on the role of team captains for the Ford Cup celebrity team races, as the teams of five attempt to work their way through a two-day maze of head-to-head racing to emerge with the gold medal and a year’s worth of bragging rights.
Providing a festive backdrop to the action on the racecourse will be a full social schedule, with events including the second annual Hold ‘Em For Hope benefit and the Legends of Skiing Banquet.
