 Edgar -Anido _BalletX   


Edgar Anido
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Edgar Anido trained at the National School of Ballet. He has previously danced with Camagüey Ballet, Central Ballet Theatre, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. He Joined BalletX in Fall 2014.

 Jared -Angle  

Jared Angle
Jared Angle trained at the Allegheny Ballet Academy,  and received the Rudolf Nureyev Scholarship to attend the School of American Ballet in 1996 He joined New York City Ballet in 1998, and was awarded a Princess Grace Foundation USA Dance Fellowship in 2001.  He is currently a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet.


Megan Bartula
Megan Bartula trained at Deborah’s Stage Door in Michigan, where she spent 10 years on their national award-winning competition team. At The University of Michigan, Megan was an executive member, dancer and choreographer for Rhythm Tap Ensemble. Megan has worked with Derick Grant, Max Pollak, Lisa La Touche, and Dorrance Dance.


Christopher Broughton
Christopher Broughton, of Los Angeles, grew up under Paul and Arlene Kennedy and the Kennedy Tap Company, which has produced tap luminaries Derick Grant and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards. Alongside Sumbry-Edwards, Broughton performed in the Broadway show After Midnight, which garnered Tony, Astaire and Drama Desk Awards. Broughton's dancing has also received recognition from the NAACP twice with the ACT-SO Award.


Isabella Boylston
Isabella Boylston was trained at the Academy of Colorado Ballet and the Harid Conservatory in Florida. She Joined American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in 2006 and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2014. She has also appeared as a guest star with the Mariinsky, The Royal Danish Ballet, and the National Ballet of China. Isabella was featured as the Artist-In-Residence for the 2016 Vail Dance Festival.


Lil Buck
Leader of the dance style known as Jookin, which originated in Memphis, TN, Lil Buck gained mass acclaim for his YouTube collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma in The Swan directed by Damian Woetzel. Lil Buck appeared with Madonna in her 2012 Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show and he now performs with Madonna regularly. He made a guest appearance on The Colbert Report in 2013, and in 2017, Buck was featured in two nationally-televised commercials, one for Lexus (during Super Bowl LI) and the acclaimed Apple AirPods spot, which has since received millions more views on YouTube.


Elizabeth Burke
Elizabeth Burke (Rehearsal Director/Dance Captain) has been working with Dorrance Dance since the company's inception in 2010/2011 and prior to that spent 11 years under the tutelage of her mentor, Gene Medler, in the acclaimed North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE). She also works with Nicholas Young’s SoundMovement Dance Company and Caleb Teicher & Company, among other choreographers.


Jeffery Cirio
Jeffery Cirio trained at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, PA. He joined Boston Ballet in 2009, promoted to Second Soloist in 2010, Soloist in 2011 and Principal in 2012. Cirio joined American Ballet Theatre as Soloist in 2015.

 Misty Copeland Headshotweb  

Misty Copeland
Misty Copeland began dancing at the age of 13, eventually studying under California ballet instructor Cindy Bradley. Copeland joined the studio company of American Ballet Theatre in 2000, becoming a soloist several years later and starring in an array of productions such as The Nutcracker and Firebird. In June 2015, Copeland became the first African-American appointed Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre.

Patricia Delgado Headshotweb  

Patricia Delgado
Patricia Delgado began dance training at the age of 5 with Cuban teachers Vivian Tobio, Liana Navarro and Maria Victoria Gutierrez in her native Miami. At 11, she began at Miami City Ballet School and spent summers in New York at the School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. She was a Princess Grace Nominee in 2000, the same year Edward Villella invited her to join Miami City Ballet as apprentice. She was promoted to coryphee in 2001, corps de ballet in 2002, soloist in 2005, principal soloist in 2006 and principal dancer in 2007.


Donovan Dorrance
Donovan Dorrance, (Chapel Hill, NC), studied music and voice before graduating from The University of North Carolina (B.A., Philosophy). After singing in an a cappella group, and drumming in an indie-rock band, Donovan moved to Brooklyn to assist his sister’s company and pursue music. Donovan co-composes music for Dorrance Dance, takes online business courses, and gets published in his UNC professors' philosophy books.


Michelle Dorrance
2017 Artist-In-Residence, Michelle Dorrance is a New York based tap dancer, performer, choreographer, teacher and director. A 2015 MacArthur Fellow, 2014 Alpert Award winner, 2013 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award winner, 2012 Princess Grace Award Winner, and both a 2015 and 2011 Bessie Award Winner, Michelle is the Founder and Artistic Director of Dorrance Dance. She is “one of the most imaginative tap choreographers working today” (The New Yorker).


Robert Fairchild
Robert Fairchild was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and began his dance training at Dance Concepts. His formal ballet training began at the age of ten at the Ballet West Conservatory. Mr. Fairchild attended the 2002 and 2003 summer courses at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, and enrolled as a full time student in the fall of 2003. In June 2005, Mr. Fairchild became an apprentice with NYCB, and the following June, he joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. He was promoted to soloist in May 2007, and in October 2009 was promoted to principal dancer.

 Chloe -Felisina _BalletX  

Chloe Felesina
Chloe Felesina received her primary training at Deane Dance Center in Sacramento and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, directed by Summer Lee Rhatigan. Chloe spent three years dancing for the San Francisco based company The Foundry directed by Alex Ketley, where she was integral to the creation of works involving processes like improvising outdoors, collaborating with poets, and going to residency programs around the country. She then joined Sacramento Ballet for three seasons, where she performed various principal and soloist roles.


Chase Finlay
Chase Finlay was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, and began his dance training at the age of 8 at Ballet Academy East. He went on to study at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, during the summer of 2007 and later enrolled as a full-time student. Finlay became an apprentice with NYCB in September 2008, became a member of the corps de ballet in September 2009, was promoted to the rank of soloist in July 2011, and became a principal in February 2013.

 Francesca -Forcella _BalletX  

Francesca Forcella
Francesca Forcella has previously danced with Houston Ballet II, Los Angeles American Contemporary Ballet, and Washington Ballet Studio Company. She joined BalletX in Fall 2013.

 Angelica -Generosa  

Angelica Generosa
Angelica Generosa  began her dance training with Gina Forcella in Sayreville, NJ, and has trained at both the Princeton Ballet School, and the School of American Ballet. She was a recipient of the Youth America Grand Prix Regional Hope Award in 2005 and was a New York finalist in 2007. Ms Generosa also received the School of American Ballet’s Mae Wien Award in 2011.  She  joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2011 and was promoted to corps de ballet in 2012.

 Marcelo Gomes Headshotweb  

Marcelo Gomes
Marcelo Gomes, a native of Brazil, began his dance studies at the Helena Lobato and Dalal Achcar Ballet Schools. He studied at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida, and at the schools of the Paris Opera Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Cuballet. Gomes joined American Ballet Theatre in 1997 and was promoted to Soloist in August 2000 and Principal Dancer in August 2002. In 2008, Gomes danced Twyla Tharp’s Sinatra Suite, partnering Luciana Paris, at the Kennedy Center Honors. He won the Benois de la Danse for best male performer in the same year. Gomes was the recipient of a Dance Magazine Award in 2015. 

 Joseph -Gordon  

Joseph Gordon
Joseph Gordon has trained at the Phoenix Dance Academy and the School of American Ballet in New York. He has been a member of New York City Ballet corps de ballet since 2012. In February 2017, Mr. Gordon was promoted to soloist.

 Francesca Hayward Headshotweb  

Francesca Hayward
English dancer, Francesca Hayward studied at The Royal Ballet School 2003–11 and graduated into the company during the 2010/11 Season. She was promoted to First Artist in 2013, Soloist in 2014, First Soloist in 2015 and Principal Dancer in 2016. After joining The Royal Ballet, Hayward represented the company at the 2012 International Competition for the Erik Bruhn Prize and won Best Emerging Artist (2014) and the Grishko Award For Best Female Dancer (2016) at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards.

 Elena -Heiss  

Elena Heiss
Elena Heiss began Flamenco at age eight at the National Institute of Flamenco (NIF)  Kids Camp in 2006.  In 2014, she received the  Princess Grace Dance Performance Scholarship.  She performed at  the Vail International Dance Festival (VIDF)  in 2014 and was the inaugural Scholar in Residence under the Direction of Damian Woetzel.  She has continued her intensive studies with Masters  Antonio Canales, and Manuela Rios of Spain.

 Bill _Irwin  

Bill Irwin
William Mills "Bill" Irwin is an American actor, clown, and comedian. He is best known for his vaudeville-style stage performances and has been noted for his contribution to the renaissance of American circus during the 1970s. He has also made a number of appearances on film and television, and he won a Tony Award for his role in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Broadway. Children know him as Mr. Noodle on Sesame Street's Elmo's World.

 Gary -Jeter _BalletX  

Gary Jeter
Gary W. Jeter II trained on full director’s scholarship at University of the Arts. He has previously danced with PHILADANCO, Eleone Dance Theater, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Joined BalletX in Fall 2014.

 Zachary -Kapeling _BalletX  

Zachary Kapeluck
Zachary Kapeluck was born in Pittsburgh, PA. Trained at Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer Program, and Point Park University. Joined BalletX in Summer 2013.


Carla Körbes
Carla Körbes was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and began her ballet training at age five. In 1996 Korbes moved to New York to study at the School of American Ballet and in 1999, was the Mae. L. Wien Award recipient and became an apprentice with New York City Ballet. She was promoted to Soloist in 2005 and later that year joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as a soloist. Körbes was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2006. June 7, 2015 marked Korbes’ last performance with PNB.

 Misa -Kuranaga  

Misa Kuranaga
Misa Kuranaga trained at the Jinushi Kaoru Ballet School in Osaka, Japan, and the School of American Ballet. Formerly a member of the San Francisco Ballet, she Joined the Boston Ballet in 2003. In 2005 she was promoted to Second Soloist, later promoted to Soloist in 2007, and was promoted to Principal in 2009.


Lauren Lovette
Lauren Lovette was born in Thousand Oaks, California and began studying ballet at the age of 11 at the Cary Ballet Conservatory in Cary, North Carolina. She attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, during the summers of 2004 and 2005 and enrolled at SAB as a full time student in 2006. In October 2009, Ms. Lovette became an apprentice with NYCB and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in September 2010. She was promoted to soloist in February 2013 and to principal dancer in June 2015. Lovette recently began choreographing dance and has had her works featured on stage with critical acclaim.

 Skyler -Lubin _BalletX  

Skyler Lubin
Skyler Lubin was trained at The Rock School for Dance Education and Miami City Ballet School. Previously dance in the Corps de Ballet with Miami City Ballet. She joined BalletX in Fall 2014.

 Adi Malcolmweb  

Adi Malcolm
"Audacious Adi" Malcolm was doing research for a school assignment and found something that sparked her interest: dance. At 13, she has not taken a single dance class, but has 29,000 subscribers on YouTube and a few viral videos. Adi loves to perform and teach, and races motocross in her spare time.


Aaron Marcellus
Aaron Marcellus, singer, vocal coach, writer, musician, dancer, and actor, started in Gospel music. His credits include American Idol 2011 and STOMP. Marcellus hosts a Burlesque show at Duane Park, and founded Surrender To Love, LLC, a foundation that supports arts programs and seeks to feed the hungry, and Adventure Voice, a training program offering vocal classes for groups and individuals.

 Daniel Mayo Balletx  

Daniel Mayo
Daniel Mayo trained at The Juilliard School and he previously danced with Atlanta Ballet and RUBBERBANDance Group. Daniel appeared in the film Bravo!FACT and has been a member of BalletX since 2014.

Roman Mejia
Roman Julian Mejia was born in Fort Worth, Texas. Studied ballet with his parents, Paul Mejia and Maria Terezia Balogh. At the age of fifteen, he entered the School of American Ballet. Now, at the age of seventeen, Roman starts his apprenticeship with New York City Ballet.





Ron "Prime Tyme" Myles
Bessie-Award winner, Ron “Prime Tyme” Myles was born in Memphis, TN and specializes in Jookin, a type of freestyle dance developed on the streets of Memphis. Ron has appeared in the feature films Footloose (2011), Frank and Cindy (2014) and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip (2015). Ron has also starred in several commercials including Beats by DreDiet Pepsi (with Sofia Vergara), Kohl’s and Adidas Originals


Dario Natarelli
Born in Vail, Dario Natarelli began his dance training at the age of four and he began intensive training in tap at the age of seven with the Colorado Chapter of the St. Louis Hoofers Club. Soon after, he moved to New York. He was awarded a full scholarship to The School at Jacob’s Pillow in 2014 and was named a Presidential Scholar in the Arts Candidate through YoungArts in 2016. Most recently, he made his off-Broadway debut in Tappin’ Thru Life. Dario gratuated LaGuardia Arts High School in New York City as a Drama major and now attends Penn State University as a Musical Theater major.

 Matthew -Neenan _BalletX  

Matthew Neenan
Trained at the Boston Ballet School, LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and the School of American Ballet. His works have been featured and performed by the Pennsylvania Ballet, The Washington Ballet, Colorado Ballet and Ballet Memphis, among many others.

 Tiler -Peck  

Tiler Peck
Tiler Peck began her dance training at the age of seven, studying privately with former Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer Alla Khaniashvili . At the age of 12, she entered the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet. In February 2005 she joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet. She was promoted to Soloist in December 2006, and principal dancer in October 2009. She is the currently the spokesperson for Body Wrappers and was named to the 2014 Forbes 30 under 30.

 Unity _Phelan  

Unity Phelan
Unity Phelan began her dance training at the age of five at the Princeton Ballet School. During the summers of 2008 and 2009, Phelan attended the summer sessions at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, and enrolled as a full-time student in fall of 2009. She became an apprentice with NYCB in December 2012 and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in November 2013. In February 2017, Ms. Phelan was promoted to soloist.

 Caili -Quan _BalletX  

Caili Quan
Born in Guam, Caili Quan trained at Ballet Academy East and Richmond Ballet. She has previously danced with North Carolina Dance Theatre and First State Ballet Theatre. Quan joined BalletX in 2013.


Claudia Rahardjanoto
From Berlin, Germany, Claudia Rahardjanoto was named one of “25 To Watch” by  Dance  Magazine and featured on the cover of  Dance  Teacher Magazine. Credits include work with Andreas Dänel, Sven Göttlicher, Dianne Walker, Ted Levy, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Michelle Dorrance, Derick Grant, Brenda Bufalino, Roxane Butterfly, Barbara Duffy, Max Pollak, the late Harold 'Stumpy' Cromer, and the legendary Mable Lee.


Gregory Richardson
Gregory Richardson (composer and multi-instrumentalist) tours with the band Darwin Deez, performing at many of the world's largest music festivals. His second home is with the New York City tap dance community, composing for and/or performing in several shows with Dorrance Dance, including Myelination, which was commissioned by the Fall For Dance Festival and premiered at New York City Center.

 Calvin _Royal  

Calvin Royal III
Calvin Royal III began his formal dance training at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Florida at the age 14. He joined the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre in September 2006.  Royal joined ABT II (now the ABT Studio Company) as an apprentice in October 2010 and the corps de ballet in April 2011. 


Leonardo Sandoval
Leonardo Sandoval hails from Brazil, where he developed his distinctive style, aiming to incorporate Brazilian rhythmic, musical, and dance traditions into tap. He has danced with Dorrance Dance since moving to New York in 2013, in addition to solo projects as a dancer and choreographer, including the recent premiere of his first evening-length piece, Music from the Sole.


Claudia Schreier
Claudia Schreier has been commissioned by the Lake Tahoe Dance Collective, Intermezzo, The Ailey School, Ballet Academy East and Columbia Ballet Collaborative. In 2015, she presented a full evening of her work at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York. A 2008 Harvard graduate, Ms. Schreier is a recipient of the Suzanne Farrell Prize for Outstanding Artistry in the Field of Dance, the 2014 Winner of the Breaking Glass Project and a 2015 Dance Magazine Nominee for Best Emerging Choreographer.


Shantala Shivalingappa
Born in India and raised in Paris, Shantala is a child of the East and West. Lauded as a rare dancer by artists and connoisseurs, Shantala Shivalingappa brings a captivating contemporary sensibility to the 2,000-year-old traditional South Indian Kuchipudi dance form. Deeply moved and inspired by Kuchipudi, she dedicated herself to training from one of its greatest teachers, Vempati Chinna Satyam. Her associations with choreographers and directors including Pina Bausch and Peter Brook fueled her rapid rise in the West and sparked a new global dance generation with her charm, musicality, and the storytelling embodied in her performances.

 Pam _Tanowitz  

Pam Tanowitz
Pam Tanowitz has been making dances since 1992.  She is a graduate of Ohio State University and Sarah Lawrence College, where she was mentored by former Merce Cunningham principal dancer Viola Farber. She founded Pam Tanowitz Dance in 2000, and has received commissions and residencies at The Joyce Theater, New York Live Arts, and the Danspace Project among others. She received a 2009 Bessie Award for the dance, Be in the Gray With Me, at Dance Theater Workshop.


Caleb Teicher
Caleb Teicher is a 2011 Bessie Award Winner and one of Dance Magazine’s 2012 “25 to Watch.” Stage: The Chase Brock Experience, The Bang Group, Syncopated City Dance Company, West Side Story (Int’l Tour), Irma La Douce (City Center Encores!). An artist-in-residence at the American Tap Dance Foundation and CUNY Queens College, he creates/presents work under the banner of Caleb Teicher & Company.


Devon Teuscher
Born in Pennsylvania, Devon Teuscher began her dance training at the Champaign Urbana Ballet Academy and continued her training at the Vermont Ballet Theatre School. From 2002 to 2006 Teuscher attended American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive, and was a National Training Scholar from 2003 to 2006. In 2005, Teuscher relocated to New York to dance at American Ballet Theatre's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School on full scholarship. Teuscher joined the Studio Company in 2006. She joined American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in December 2007 and the corps de ballet in June 2008. Teuscher became a Soloist in August 2014.


Byron Tittle
Byron Tittle is a multiform dancer from New York; tap became of chief interest upon studying with David Rider and joining the American Tap Dance Foundation's Tap City Youth Ensemble. Byron has worked in film, television, and live performance in Los Angeles, and recently performed at the 2015 BET Awards in a tribute to Janet Jackson.

 Melissa -Toogood  

Melissa Toogood
Melissa Toogood was a member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company; has taught Cunningham Technique since 2007 and is a 2013 & 2015 Merce Cunningham Fellow. She began working with Rashaun & Silas in 2010 and Pam Tanowitz in 2006. She has performed with Stephen Petronio Company, Sally Silvers, Rosie Herrera, Kyle Abraham and others. Dance Magazine named her in their 25 to watch in 2014. 


Eric Underwood
Underwood was born in Washington D.C. and aged 14 began training locally with Barbara Marks. At the end of his first year he joined the School of American Ballet, New York, later winning the school’s Philip Morris Foundation Scholarship. He graduated into the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2000 and was promoted to soloist at the end of the season, before moving to American Ballet Theatre in 2003. Underwood joined The Royal Ballet in 2006 as a First Artist and was promoted to Soloist in 2008.

 Richard -Villaverde _BalletX  

Richard Villaverde
Richard Villaverde was trained on full scholarship at University of the Arts. He received the award for Senior Male Outstanding Dancer at New York City Dance Alliance, and joined BalletX in 2013.

James _Whiteside  

James Whiteside
James Whiteside was born in Fairfield, Connecticut. He trained at the D’Valda & Sirico Dance and Music Center, as well as the Virginia School for the Arts. He joined Boston Ballet in 2002, and was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2009. Whiteside joined American Ballet Theatre as a Soloist in 2012, and was named Principal Dancer in 2013. 

 Andrea _Yorita  

Andrea Yorita
Andrea is from Irvine, California, where she received her classical ballet training at Academy of Dance under the direction of Merle Sepel and Rebecca Tsivkin.  Originally trained under the R.A.D. syllabus, Andrea has completed all Vocational R.A.D. exams with Distinction as well as received the Solo Seal Award.  Andrea graduated in 2012 with a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine as a Gillespie Scholar. She joined BalletX in 2013.


Nicholas Young
Nicholas Young is a dancer, musician and choreographer, and a 2015 Bessie Award recipient. Past credits include STOMP (principal role, rehearsal director, 10 year run) and Tapestry Dance Company of Austin, TX, among many, many others. Nicholas is currently working on ETM: Double Down, a collaborative effort with Michelle Dorrance.
