Vail Colorado’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater has been one of the most beautiful venues in the world for the past 30 years. To celebrate its 30th birthday we will be throwing a musical birthday bash all summer long, culminating in the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater 30th Anniversary Concerts Featuring Rodrigo y Gabriela (Aug. 18) and Third Eye Blind (Aug. 19).
Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real will open on Friday night, Aug. 18 for Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Dead Man Winter featuring Dave Simonett of Trampled by Turtles will open on Saturday night, Aug. 19, for Third Eye Blind. Two more opening acts are expected to be announced soon.
The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail is a spectacular outdoor venue that seats 1,260 guests in covered seating and an additional 1,300 on its expansive grassy hillside with a breathtaking view of the Rocky Mountains.
Gates to the venue open one hour prior to showtime. Lawn seating available on a first come-first served basis. The Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater is fully ADA compliant and provides special accommodations for those with limited mobility. Concessions with food and alcohol sales are available at the facility.
Each summer, the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater plays host to an array of cultural and entertainment offerings, ranging from internationally renowned dance and classical music presentations, courtesy of the Vail Dance Festival and the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, to the free weekly concerts of the Hot Summer Nights series. In addition, local chorale and theater presentations annually grace the Amphitheater stage, while headlining concerts round out the summer calendar.
The Box Office opens early June every year. For more information prior to opening, contact the Vail Valley Foundation at 970-845-TIXS (8497).
