Andy Arnold

Andy Arnold grew up in Laramie, Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming. He has worked in Colorado and California in management consulting and has been in private equity for more than 20 years.

Andy and his wife, Ann Newman, have lived in Vail for more than three decades. Andy has been active in K-12 education serving on the Eagle County Board of Education; the Vail Valley Foundation’s YouthPower365 Committee; and the Advisory Board of Colorado Succeeds – an education advocacy organization of executives representing major Colorado companies. Since 2011, Andy has served on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors.

John Arnold

Board Executive Committee Member

John M. Arnold has served on the Board of Directors for the Vail Valley Foundation since 2015. He also serves on the Boards of Directors for the Penn State Council on Philanthropy, Penn State Smeal School of Business Board of Visitors, the Captive Investors Fund, and is Chairman of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Storage Tank Advisory Board.

John attended Grove City College and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business in 1985.  He attended Pennsylvania State University and earned his M.B.A. and graduated in 1987 with a degree in Finance.

In 1992, John became President of Petroleum Products Corp. and became Chairman in 1995.  The company was very successfully sold in April 2015 to Boston based Arclight Capital. John continues to be the Chairman, C.E.O., and owner of PPC Lubricants, Inc., which in 2016 was named Shell’s No. 1 lubricant distributor in the United States.

Sam Bronfman

Sam Bronfman has sat on the Board of the Vail Valley Foundation since 2017. He is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Bacchus Capital Management and is actively involved in the management of the Bacchus portfolio wineries. Prior to founding Bacchus, Sam was a Director of Seagram, successfully led Seagram Chateau and Estates Wines Co. (the premium wine division of the Seagram Company) and served as the Chairman of Diageo Global Wines.

In the Vail Valley, Sam is actively involved in supporting and donating to the Eagle Valley Land Trust, Vail Performing Arts Academy, and Walking Mountains Science Center, where his wife Kelly is on the Board of Directors. He is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Vail Health and is on the Board of Directors of the Vail Health Foundation.

Formerly, Sam was Chairman of the Board of the Cancer Prevention Institute of California and now sits on its Executive Committee, and for ten years was on the Deerfield Academy Board of Trustees. Sam has also been the Chairman of the Northern California Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and Chairman of the California Wine Institute.

Sam also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Colorado College, where his daughter Annie and Dana are graduates. Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. He was an Editor of the Williams Record and earned varsity letters in tennis and basketball.

Jeffrey Byrne

Jeffrey is the Co-Founder + CEO of Byrne Pelofsky + Associates, LLC a full-service consulting firm which has served more than 650 organizations while raising over $3,500,000,000 and recognized as one of the leading philanthropic advisors in the United States annually serving over 100 clients.  Jeffrey’s 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector continues to improve the lives of millions through philanthropy and building volunteer led nonprofit organization’s capacity to connect stakeholders to missions.

Jeffrey has expertise in spearheading difficult and complex strategies for nonprofits leading hundreds of nonprofit planning studies and consulting with seven, eight and nine figure campaigns.  Jeffrey has led regional, national and international projects for luminaries like Harry S. Truman’s Presidential Museum and Library; The Nation’s World War I Museum & Memorial; The Ewing & Muriel Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts; numerous Nature Conservancy and Special Olympic state chapters; and his beloved alma mater, The University of Missouri.

Recognized for his distinctive client-focused philosophy Jeffrey is a frequent guest speaker at workshops and conferences across the United States.  He has been quoted in the New York Times, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Philanthropy and Kansas City Star, and has been interviewed scores of times by newspapers and now through social media.  He makes regular guest appearances as “Dr. Philanthropy” on the podcast KC Cares as Kansas City’s Nonprofit Voice. Jeffrey has received numerous awards including Nonprofit Connects Fundraiser of the Year.

Byrne Pelofsky + Associates, LLC. is among a few fundraising consulting firms in the country to be accepted into The Giving Institute, the preeminent professional association most recognized for embodying the values of ethics, excellence, and leadership in advancing philanthropy. Jeffrey serves as a Board Member of The Giving Institute Board of Directors and was on the Executive Committee for 14 years and served as Chair (2015-2017).

Jeffrey reflects his Midwestern upbringing of hard work and a strong commitment to leadership. Raised in Charleston, Missouri as a fourth-generation farmer, Jeffrey served on his family’s B&F Farms, Inc. Board for nineteen years before selling in 2021.  Jeffrey is a graduate of the College of Arts & Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in political science.  Jeffrey’s hobbies include snow skiing in Vail, Colorado and across the world; adventurous travel to 46 countries on all seven continents; a love of art, music and dance; a member of numerous nonprofit boards including the New York based David Parsons Dance Company; and a love for animals, especially dogs, including his Miniature Australian Shepherd Holly.

Susan Campbell

Board Executive Committee Member

Susan Campbell grew up in a family that loved ballet; she and her sister danced, her mother designed costumes, and her father played character roles while becoming a tenured singer with the San Francisco Opera. She choreographed her first ballet at 9 and continued dancing and choreographing for many years.

Susan received her BA in Business/Accounting from San Francisco State University and worked as a CPA for Deloitte in Aberdeen, London, San Francisco and Boston. She also audited hotels for Sheraton and worked for the City of Carrolton in Texas before retiring to raise her three children.

She has continued to be an avid dance supporter as the family relocated from Dallas, to London, San Francisco, and New York. Currently, she sits on the Board and Executive Committee of The New York City Ballet and is involved with various dance organizations across the US. She has been a member of the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors since 2014 and has Chaired the Vail Dance Festival since 2018.

Her family’s main center of gravity has long been Beaver Creek where they discovered their love of skiing and mountain biking. She first attended the Vail Dance Festival in 2007 and was so impressed she immediately got involved. It was simply the best collection of dance she’s ever seen anywhere in the world with a focus on original choreography that was truly exciting. She is grateful to have the opportunity to exercise her lifelong passion for dance with the Vail Dance Festival.

Will Cook

Will Cook is the president and chief executive officer of Vail Health, a nonprofit community health care system with 12 locations across Eagle and Summit counties. With a 56-bed hospital, level III trauma center, urgent care clinics, cancer center, cardiovascular services, surgery, childbirth, physical therapy, internal medicine, endocrinology and more, Vail Health is the world’s most modern mountain health care system.

Previously, Mr. Cook served as the president and chief executive officer of University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), the only academic medical center in Colorado. Mr. Cook joined University of Colorado Hospital in September 2015 and was responsible for advancing patient care, innovation and research at UCH and was responsible for the Metro-Denver region.

Prior to UCH, Mr. Cook worked at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), an academic medical center with 21 hospitals, 3,400 employed physicians and more than 60,000 employees. He served as senior vice president of UPMC’s Health Services Division, chief operating officer of Physician Services, and president of UPMC Mercy. While at UPMC, Mr. Cook held several leadership roles, including vice president of operations at Magee Women’s Hospital of UPMC, as well as vice president of transplant and ambulatory care at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.

The early part of Mr. Cook’s career was spent with Johns Hopkins Health System, where he held several positions, including director of operations at Johns Hopkins International Medical Center in Singapore.

Mr. Cook received a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Washington University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. He also completed a two-year fellowship in Health Care Administration at Johns Hopkins Health System. He is a skilled leader at building partnerships, including with physicians and staff at all levels. He also has a broad base of operational health care experience in outpatient and inpatient services.

Mr. Cook enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the Colorado landscape with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters, Sadie and Sofia.

Steve Coyer

Board Executive Committee Member

Steve Coyer and his wife, Amy, moved to the Vail Valley full-time in 1999 and have never regretted it for one second. Soon after arrival he became involved in the launching of the First Tee chapter of Eagle County in 2007, managed by YouthPower365 (then known as The Youth Foundation). Steve became chair of the organization in 2011 and was instrumental in executing its merger with the Vail Valley Foundation in 2011.

Steve has been actively involved as a Vail Valley Foundation Board Member and Education Committee Member and is now Chair of that committee. He holds a B.A. with distinction and honor in economics from the University of Michigan and has an M.A. from the Harvard Business School.

The Coyers have a wide variety of philanthropical interests. They contribute to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Walking Mountain Science Center, and Steve sits on the Board of Directors of the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District. They are also major benefactors to the new STEM Science and Engineering Center at Steve’s alma mater, University of Detroit High School, where he proudly accepted the Alumnus of the Year award in 2013.

Greg Daly

In 1995, Chief Daly began his career in law enforcement, graduating from the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy at the Colorado Mountain College, Spring Valley, near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. In 1996 he started with the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office as a Sheriff’s Deputy. He worked for a combined total of 12 years for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. During his service, he was a Field Training Officer, defensive tactics instructor, fitness instructor and SWAT Assistant team leader. He also promoted to patrol sergeant.

In 2008 Daly was selected for the position of Lieutenant at the Avon Police Department, second in command to then Chief Brian Kozak. He served under Chief Kozak for two years and then as Deputy Chief under Chief Robert Ticer for six years. In 2016, Daly was appointed Chief of Police at Avon Police Department.

Chief Daly has served on the Eagle County Special Operations Unit for 21 years. He was the Tactical Commander for eight years and currently serves as a tactical trainer and advisor to the team. Chief Daly also serves as a board member on the Colorado Peace Officer and Training Standards Board where he is serving his second three-year term.

Chief Daly is the board chairperson of Speak Up Reach Out, the suicide prevention nonprofit originally organized at the Avon Police Department 15 years ago.

Chief Daly earned a Bachelor of Financial Services degree from the University of College Dublin and the Institute of Bankers in Ireland in 1998. In 2012, he completed a Master of Science Degree in Criminology from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. In 2016, Chief Daly graduated from Session 263 of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Kevin Duncan

Kevin has served as a Trustee and Board Chair for the American Alpine Club, the Colorado Mountain Club, the Colorado Symphony, and for the Kent Denver School. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder. Kevin is an avid mountaineer having climbed in Ecuador, Russia, Alaska, Nepal, and Africa, and has climbed the top 100 of Colorado’s peaks. Kevin’s father founded Silver Oak Cellars and Purgatory Ski Resort. Kevin’s career was managing the family office in Denver for the past 30 years. He is now retired.

Johannes Faessler

Board Executive Committee Member

Johannes Faessler is originally from Bavaria, where he was born and raised in the hospitality industry. He came to the USA to attend the University of Denver and in the mid-1980s, soon after completing university, took over the family business: Sonnenalp Properties in Vail.



At the time, the Sonnenalp had 37 rooms and one restaurant, but Johannes soon acquired the Kiandra and Talisman lodges and incorporated those properties into the Sonnenalp. Several years later, Johannes and his wife Rosana took the bold step to completely remodel existing facilities and spent two years rebuilding a new hotel into what we all know and enjoy today.



Sonnenalp Properties, Inc., now consists of the Sonnenalp Resort and Spa of Vail, the Swiss Hotel and Spa, Sonnenalp Property Management, The Bully Ranch, The Swiss Chalet and the Sonnenalp Club in Singletree (Edwards), all of which are consistently ranked as some of the top properties and restaurants in the world.



Johannes is also an accomplished skier, an Ironman triathlete, and has been a longtime supporter, volunteer and sponsor of not only the Vail Valley Foundation but a myriad of other local organizations in Eagle County.



He has been a Vail Valley Foundation Board Member since 2008, is the Chairman of the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors’ Development Committee, and also serves on the Executive Committee.  Johannes and Rosana have two children: Sebastian and Francesca.

Margie Gart

Margie Gart has served on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors since 2011. She is also the former Director of Philanthropy at Rose Community Foundation, where she worked with individuals, families and groups to structure their philanthropy for impact.  She has served on the boards of The Kent Denver School, Rose Community Foundation, Women’s Foundation of Colorado (chair, 2014), and RAFT.

She received an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.  Margie and her husband Tom live in Denver and have been part-time residents of Vail since 1985.  They have three grown children who enjoy visiting the Valley.

Nadia Guerriero

Nadia Guerriero currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Rockies Region for Vail Resorts. She was previously Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Beaver Creek Resort, home to the Vail Valley Foundation’s annual Bird of Prey World Cup ski races. Before that, Guerriero served as Vice President and General Manager of Northstar California Resort, where she worked for more than a decade first starting off as the Director of Events and Conference Services in 2007.

Guerriero has a passion for the outdoors. She learned to cross country ski, hike and camp at a young age with her family growing up in Colorado. Guerriero left Colorado in 2000 to further her athlete management career and spent three years in Southern California before landing in Reno, Nevada.

Guerriero is thrilled to be living back in Colorado and loves to spend her free time with her young daughter and husband paddle boarding, skiing, bike riding and practicing yoga.

Carrie Besnette Hauser

Dr. Carrie Besnette Hauser is the president and CEO of Trust for Public Land (TPL), a national non-profit conservation organization focused on ensuring access to the benefits and joys of the outdoors, for everyone.

Before joining TPL in 2024, Carrie served as president and CEO of Colorado Mountain College, where she led the institution to record graduation rates, closed equity gaps, expanded affordable housing for students, and developed academic programs aligned with the outdoor industry.  She was named the first President Emerita in the history of the college.

Her extensive board service includes the American Council on Education, Vail Valley Foundation, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission, Great Outdoors Colorado, and American Rivers.

Carrie earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, her master’s and Ph.D. from UCLA, and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business.

An avid outdoorswoman, Carrie has summited Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Rainier, Mount Whitney, and Colorado’s 58 “fourteeners.” She has also climbed to Mount Everest basecamp and worked many summers on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Colorado and spend their free time outside with their yellow lab, Gracie, and exploring remote places around the globe.

Beth Howard

Board Executive Committee Member

Beth Howard has been with Vail Resorts since she was a college intern at Beaver Creek in 1985. The experience sparked a successful 30-plus-year career with the company, where she is now Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Vail Mountain Resort.

Beth also served as Restaurant Manager in Vail, Director of Food & Beverage at Beaver Creek, Vice President of Mountain Dining & Clubs for Vail Resorts Corporate, and Vice President & General Manager at Northstar, California in Lake Tahoe, before taking on her current role in 2016.

Along with serving on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors, Beth volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, The Salvation Army, and Boy Scouts of America. She also graduated with honors from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Food & Nutrition and Business.

Al Hubbard

Al Hubbard co-founded EA companies in 1977 and serves as its Chairman.  Starting with no capital, Mr. Hubbard and his partner acquired and grew a number of small businesses in specialty chemicals, aircraft engine components, hotel amenities, light fixtures, medical equipment, gluten-free baked goods, women’s apparel and most recently a camper van rental company.



In addition to his work at EA companies, Mr. Hubbard served in the White House in two different administrations.  During the George H. W. Bush administration, Mr. Hubbard was Executive Director of the President’s Council on Competitiveness and Deputy Chief of Staff to Vice President Dan Quayle.  During the George W. Bush Administration, Mr. Hubbard was Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of The National Economic Council.



Mr. Hubbard has also served on a number of nonprofit and for-profit boards including Anthem Corporation and Simon Property Group.  Mr. Hubbard has devoted most of his civic activities and philanthropy to reforming K-12 education and higher education, and currently serves on the boards of Hoosiers for Quality Education, The Indiana Commission on Higher Education, The Lumina Foundation and ExcelinEd.



Mr. Hubbard earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, his MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School, and his B.A., cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.



Mr. Hubbard and his wife, Kathy, reside in Indianapolis and have three grown children. Mr. Hubbard was born and raised in Jackson, TN.

B.J. Hybl

Board Executive Committee Member

William J Hybl Jr. “B.J.” is President and COO of Griffis/Blessing, Inc.  Griffis/Blessing, Inc. is a real estate investment and services firm founded in 1985 and based in Colorado Springs.  From 1993-1997 he was a Missile Launch Officer, Captain, for the United States Air Force, and from 1990-1992 he was active in work with the United States Olympic Committee, U.S.A. Cycling, and Ski Broadmoor.



He has been a member of the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors since 2015.



B.J. has a Masters of Business Administration from Regis University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado College, where he majored in Political Science. B.J. is married to Kristel Hybl and has two teenage children Jack, and Emma.

David Hyde

Board Executive Committee Member

David graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 1994. Early in his career, David worked in Miami, Washington DC and Atlanta, where he honed his construction management skills before moving to the Vail Valley where his wife Alex grew up. He is currently the President of Shaeffer Hyde Construction, which he joined in 2007.

Through his company, David is participating in the CareerWise Colorado Apprenticeship Program in collaboration with the Eagle County School District, Vail Valley Partnership, Colorado Mountain College and YouthPower365. The program offers a pathway for high school students to obtain hands-on training for good paying jobs in the community. David is also involved with the Walking Mountains Science Center’s Actively Green Program, and oversaw his company’s Actively Green Certification in 2018. The program is responsible for significant reductions in water consumption, energy use, CO2 emissions and overall waste diverted to the landfill by local businesses.

In his spare time, David is a youth basketball coach, enjoys skiing, playing guitar and mountain biking. David and Alex have two sons.

Mike Imhof

President, Vail Valley Foundation

Mike Imhof began his career at the Vail Valley Foundation in 2007 serving as the organization’s Vice President, Operations and Sales, and then as its Senior Vice President, Operations, Sales and Development.

Mike became the organization’s fifth President and CEO in fall 2015.  Prior to the Vail Valley Foundation, Mike worked for Vail Resorts, Inc., as Director, Strategic Alliance overseeing ticket sales, season pass sales, licensing, trademarks and strategic partnerships. Before moving to the valley in 1998 and joining Vail Resorts, Mike was National Sales Director of Tactilitics, Inc., a medical device company based in Boulder, Colorado.

Mike is originally from Tacoma, Washington and graduated from Regis University in Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Communications. He serves on the Board of Directors for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, the Vail Valley Foundation and the Vail Valley Partnership, and he and his wife Ellen, in addition to their support of Vail Valley Foundation activities, are also active with the Eagle Valley Family Assistance Fund, St. Clare of Assisi School, St. Patrick’s Church, Vail Christian High School and the Vail Veterans Program. Mike and Ellen live in Wolcott and have two sons, Michael and Miles.

Chris Jarnot

Chair of the Board

Chris Jarnot is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Vail Valley Foundation. He was appointed to the position on July 1, 2022.

Chris was raised in the Vail Valley, and held numerous positions with Vail Resorts from1985 to 2020. He began as a seasonal employee in guest services at Beaver Creek, and later was Director of Advertising and Direct Marketing, Director of Reservations, Vice President of Marketing for Vail and Beaver Creek, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales and Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Vail Mountain.

In 2016 Chris became Executive Vice President, Mountain Division, for Vail Resorts where he oversaw Vail Resorts’ mountain resort businesses in Colorado, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone; plus Afton Alps, Minnesota; Mount Brighton, Michigan; Wilmot Mountain, Wisconsin and Perisher, Australia, until retiring in 2020.

A graduate of the University of Colorado in Tourism Management, Chris has served on the Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Foundation since 2001, and he also serves on the Board of Directors of Vail Health. He is married with three children.

Cheryl Jensen

Cheryl Jensen and her husband Bill moved to the Vail Valley in 1999 after living in Lake Tahoe and Breckenridge. Cheryl is the Founder of Vail Veterans Program which began in 2004 as an adaptive winter ski program for a small group of wounded warriors and has grown to host a wide range of therapeutic Colorado-based programs serving more than 3,000 injured military service members and their families.

Cheryl also founded and serves as the Executive Director of Sharing Warmth Around the Globe, a program of the National Ski Areas Association that ships gently used resort uniforms to people in need. To date, Sharing Warmth has provided over 300,000 winter coats to a world-wide population in need.

Cheryl served as a founding member of the Shaw Outreach Team which was responsible for raising the funds to plan, build and furnish Jack’s Place, an on-site residential complex located at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center.

Cheryl has been recognized with numerous awards through the years which include the Ernie Bender Volunteer of the Year from the Vail Valley Foundation, two Civilian Service Awards from the Secretary of Defense and Chief of Staff of the Army, the Women’s Outstanding Work Award from Women’s Foundation of Colorado, the Chairman’s Award from the Vail Valley Partnership and in 2019 the Women in Industry award from the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.

Cheryl enjoys golf, hiking, cycling, skiing, and adventure travel.

Alexia Jurschak

Board Executive Committee Member

Alexia D. Jurschak was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University, and worked in the insurance industry with Special Risk Services, Inc. in London, Marsh & McLennan, and CNA Insurance before making her home in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Alexia has always been active in her community, including work in New York with the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, the Harvey School, the Town of Bedford, the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility (where she served in the women’s education program), and the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

Alexia has served on the Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Foundation since 2015, and served as Chair of the Vail Valley Foundation’s Vilar Performing Arts Center Committee since 2016. She also chairs the Beaver Creek Club Governance Board. Her active work in the community includes significant contributions to Vail Veterans, the Eagle Valley Family Assistance Fund,  Vail Health, Bravo! Vail Music Festival, Walking Mountains, Bright Future Foundation, Roundup River Ranch, the Beaver Creek Property Owners Association Board of Directors, and more.

Anne-Marie Keane

Anne-Marie Keane is a mother, former Fortune 500 Executive, and active board member and community volunteer living in Vail. All four of her children attended Vail Mountain School and are competitive ski racers. She is Chair of the Vail Mountain School Board of Trustees and the founding director of Vail Women Elect, a local group that has raised over $180,000 to support women candidates running for political office in Colorado and nationally.

Prior to moving to Vail in 2009, Ms. Keane held a number of executive positions in marketing, merchandising, operations and strategy in both the US and Europe during her 17-year tenure with Staples, The Office Superstore.  While at Staples, Ms. Keane chaired the National Office Products Industry Charitable Campaign, raising $6 million in 2006 to benefit City of Hope and the fight against cancer.

Prior to Staples, Ms. Keane was a strategy consultant at Monitor Company.  She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Suma Cum Laude from Dartmouth, and has her Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. She is a founder and former president of the Harvard Business School Network of Women Alumnae. She continues to support people and organizations that support the success and achievement of women.

Molly Kipp

Molly grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin with parents who put great emphasis on caring for others and taking care of the entire community – especially those experiencing poverty. Many weekends were devoted to charity work as a family.

After assuming she would follow her sister and go to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Molly started working in restaurants and fell in love. She changed her plans and attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York.

After school, Molly worked in New York City, Atlanta and then Chicago, where she worked for almost 10 years, moving from line cook to pastry chef at Spring Restaurant under Shawn McClain, and then becoming Chef d Cuisine of its sister restaurant, Green Zebra.

Molly left Chicago to move to the Vail Valley over 15 years ago, to raise her daughter in a small caring community that had a lot to offer. She started the sourdough bread program at Zino for Zino, Sweet Basil and Mountain Standard. This allowed her to be in the kitchen in the wee hours of the morning and then home with her daughter most of the day and evening. Having this schedule gave Molly the opportunity to immerse herself in the Vail Valley and see what a unique place it is and how important community, health, outdoors and culture are to Vail.

In 2017, Molly had the amazing experience of opening Hovey & Harrison with Gretchen Hovey. Molly and Gretchen put their love of farms, cooking and community all under one roof. Although Gretchen is no longer a part of Hovey & Harrison, Molly is beyond grateful that they created the space together. Molly now runs Hovey & Harrison with her chef and partner Brian Brouillard. Although Molly spends the majority of her days at Hovey & Harrison doing what she loves, she takes any chance she can to travel with her daughter to eat and learn about other cultures. If Molly can’t get on a plane to escape, she will be out hiking with her dog, Jack.

Mike Krupka

Mike is a Partner at Bain Capital Ventures and was the Co-Managing Partner from 2000-2018. He has been at Bain Capital since 1991 and has invested in numerous companies, from start-up through $1 billion in revenue, across multiple sectors. He has been the chief financial officer of a $70 million loan processing company and president of a $100 million software company. Prior to Bain Capital, Mike was a consultant at Bain & Company.

Mike focuses on investments in application software and SaaS companies across multiple sectors, including healthcare, insurance, real estate, travel and entertainment, auto, education and human resources.

Mike’s experience across many different stages and business models provides a perspective that can be a great sounding board for CEOs as they build their businesses. Mike enjoys working on strategic business issues with his companies, as well as management team building. He has been involved with many add-on acquisitions and equity and debt financings, and is an active board member from idea conception through $1 billion in revenue.

Mike earned a degree in chemistry from Dartmouth College. He has served on the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston for more than 25 years and has coached hundreds of kids in lacrosse and soccer from grades two through eight.

McKinley Childress Lee

McKinley and her family moved to the Vail Valley in 2019 from Charlottesville, Virginia.  Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she is a graduate of Colorado College and University of Montana, where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. McKinley practiced physical therapy for over a decade in both acute care at University of Virginia and outpatient care at Howard Head Sports Medicine. She serves on the Board of Trustees at Vail Mountain School, co-chairing the annual gala from 2023 to 2025. In addition, McKinley is a board member of the Vail Valley Lacrosse Club and a member of the Vail Valley Foundation’s Development Committee since 2022.

Donna Lynne

Donna Lynne, DrPH, is the Chief Executive Officer for Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA), a $1.4 b community-based clinic and hospital system, providing 1.2 m patient visits a year. DHHA also operates a health plan and operates 19 school-based clinics and 10 ambulatory clinics as well as public health services. Prior to becoming the CEO of DHHA, Donna was the Chief Operating Officer of Columbia University Medical Center and the CEO of Columbia Doctors, a 2600 physician faculty practice organization supported by over 7000 non-physician staff. Donna also served as the University’s COVID-19 Director.

Until January 2019, she was Colorado’s 49th Lieutenant Governor and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to assuming her roles in Colorado state government, Dr. Lynne served as the executive vice president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, and as group president responsible for its Colorado, Pacific Northwest and Hawaii regions – overseeing an $8 billion budget, 1.4 million members and 16,000 employees. She participated in numerous boards and commissions during her time at Kaiser Permanente, including the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Public Schools Foundation Board, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and many others.

She has been recognized as one of the top women business leaders in Denver and one of the top 25 Women in Healthcare in the nation. Dr. Lynne also spent 20 years working in various positions in New York City government including First Deputy Commissioner at the Office of Labor Relations, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Operations, and Senior Vice President of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from University of New Hampshire, a Masters of Public Administration from George Washington University, and a Doctor of Public Health from Columbia University. In 2014, Dr. Lynne received an honorary doctorate of public service from the University of Denver, and in 2017 an honorary bachelor of science degree in nursing from Colorado Mountain College. She has also been an adjunct professor at Columbia University since 2005.

Jeff Malehorn

Jeff is Founding Principal of L3.0 Ventures focused on investing and consulting. His primary efforts are centered on board of director and advisory service in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

Locally, since 2024 he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eagle Valley Community Foundation. He also serves as the Treasurer / Board of Directors of the Walking Mountains Science Center. He is on the Events Committee and Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater Committee for the Vail Valley Foundation.

Jeff raised his family in Chicago where he is still on the boards of mHUb, WBC, and the Development Committee for U.S. Soccer. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association Midwest, Workforce Chicago, and was on the board of The Greater Chicago Food Depository and several other boards in Chicago.

Jeff is on the board of Sabra Healthcare REIT (NASDAQ) in Irvine California where he has chaired the Compensation Committee for the last four years and is an Audit Committee member. He was previously on the board of Care Capital Properties (NYSE).

Jeff is a former GE Company Officer 2001-12. He led global businesses including GE Capital’s Commercial Distribution Finance and Healthcare Financial Services (Chicago), Global Financial Restructuring based in Tokyo and the Commercial Real Estate divisions for the U.S. (Newport Beach, California) and Europe (Paris).

After a highly rewarding 28-year GE career, Jeff directed “Chapter 2” energies focused on driving broader economic and societal impact in the public-private sector. He leveraged his global leadership skills working with domestic and international CEO’s / C-Suites, Government and Civic leaders and numerous partners leading World Business Chicago (WBC) as President & CEO and then Executive Advisor (2013-17). WBC is a public-private, non-profit partnership that drives inclusive economic growth and job creation, supports business and promotes Chicago as a leading global city. WBC is chaired by the Mayor with a private sector Board of Directors of leading CEOs.

Jeff has been married to his wife Laura for 31 years and they reside in Vail. They have two daughters: Kayla, (McKinsey & Co. Manager), and Ali, (Gatorade Brand Mgr. (Pepsi / Quaker)).

Jeff is a graduate of Penn State and enjoys sports of all kinds and adventure travel.

Sarah Malloy Millett

Sarah Malloy Millett grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Dartmouth College where she majored in Economics and German. After several years working as an analyst for the banking and financial sectors, Sarah pursued her passion for teaching and earned a Master of Arts in Education from Simmons College in Boston.

In 2005, Sarah and her husband, Peter Millett, M.D., and their four children relocated from Boston to the Vail Valley when Peter accepted a position with the Steadman Clinic. Since that time, Sarah has opened and operated a small business in the valley and has been actively involved in serving many nonprofit organizations.

Along with her work on the Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Foundation where she has been particularly active with YouthPower365, Sarah has been active with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Catholic Charities and St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School in Edwards. Sarah also serves on the Advisory Board of Bravo! Vail and serves on the leadership council for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail.

Sarah joined the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors in 2016.

Alejandra Cortés de Milmo

Health Coach (Ale Cortes Coach) and Founding President of the Axtel Foundation.

She considers that contributing to society makes her a more empathetic human being and invites her to be co-responsible with her community. She feels the responsibility of returning some of the generosity that life has given her.

She has spent the last 15 years promoting philanthropy through the Axtel Foundation, supporting capacity building projects for the marginalized urban communities of the country, seeking to transform the way of thinking and acting of civil society organizations; supporting them in generating proposals with sustenance and encouraging them to measure their impact.

From 2006 to 2016 Fundación Axtel promoted Corporate Volunteering, creating a communication bridge between the AXTEL Community and the community. “The valuable participation of hundreds of collaborators who have shared their time, knowledge and heart to support different programs is a treasure that we consider very valuable.”

Since then, Fundación Axtel has benefited more than 550,000 people through more than 250 projects in 39 cities in the country.

It has fundamentally promoted social synergies through the promotion of 9 new social institutions that today benefit the community, among which are SUMARSE, Causas.org, Vía Educación, Sattva ONG, Potencia Joven (Young Power), Boys Hope Girls Hope, and the Citizen Educational Alliance for Nuevo León, among others.

Member of the Board of Directors of Alianza Educativa Ciudadana por NL. An initiative to improve school infrastructure, mentoring and support to school principals. This model is operated in 100 public schools.

Since 2013, she has chaired the Potencia Joven Council, an initiative that seeks to lead children who are on the street to start a life project together with their family, it seeks to strengthen the mother-child bond.

Since 2005 she has been part of the Administrative Council of the Nuevo Amanecer Institute, A.B.P.; She has been a member of the Board of Pro Superación Familiar Neoleonesa, A.C. since 2005; As of 2008, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of Boys Hope Girls Hope Monterrey, A.B.P. In addition, she has been a member, since 2008, of the Board of Trustees of the Luis Elizondo Prize of Tec de Monterrey, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Polytechnic High School of the University of Monterrey since 2006. In 2013, she was elected member of the Board of Directors of the Casa Paterna La Gran Familia, AC. In 2016, she joins the University of NL foundation as an advisor.

Alejandra Cortés de Milmo has a B.A. Degree in Marketing from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (I.T.E.S.M.). She has a Digital Design Diploma from The Art Institute of Pittsburg. She has a Master of Science in Health Coaching from the International Health Coach University. She is currently part of the team at the Tec Salud Zambrano Hellion Hospital to bring a Functional Medicine approach to the community.

Alejandra has been a member of the Vail community since 2009 and she is grateful for the opportunity to serve.

Ellen Moritz

Board Executive Committee Member

Ellen Moritz grew up in Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota, obtaining degrees in Business Economics, Economics and German.  She moved to Vail from Minnesota in January 1990 to begin working for FirstBank. Ellen started in the management training program with FirstBank and was most recently the President of FirstBank’s Eagle County market.

During her years in the Vail Valley, Ellen has also been involved in many nonprofit groups, including chairing the Audit committee of the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors.  She is also Treasurer of Walking Mountains Science Center, an organization providing science education to children and adults in the community.

Ellen is also a member of the scholarship committee for St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School, a member of the Board of Directors of Vail Health, and serves on the banker advisory board for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has also served as the Treasurer of the Vail Valley Charitable Fund and a board member for the Family Learning Center.

Ellen is married to Jean-Claude Moritz and they have three sons, Sebastian, Alec and Theo. Her hobbies include running, skiing, reading, hiking and watching all of her sons’ sporting events.

Kaia Moritz

The Vail Valley has always been a big part of Kaia Borgen Moritz’s life, from growing up ski racing in Vail to moving permanently to the valley in 2003. She has served on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors since 2015.

Kaia graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Science in Art History and Environmental Science and has a Masters in Business Administration, Finance, from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business.

She has worked as an Assistant Buyer for Gorsuch, Ltd., an Investor Services and Financial Analyst for Founders Asset Management, and a Business Consultant for Arthur Andersen. She is a Trustee at the Borgen Family Foundation, and along with her work at the Vail Valley Foundation, also serves on the Board of Directors of Vail Mountain School, and Ski and Snowboard Club Vail. Her husband Misha was born and raised in Vail, and together with their children, they enjoy travel to Kaia’s ancestral home of Norway, surfing and skiing.

Bobby Murphy

Bobby Murphy has spent more than 15 years in leadership roles at Vail Resorts and three decades in the ski and mountain resort industry. Prior to his appointment as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Beaver Creek, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont from 2017-2023, where he also had additional leadership oversight of Attitash and Wildcat Mountains in N.H.

Prior to his time at Stowe, Bobby served at Vail Mountain from 2010-2017, first as Senior Director of Ski and Snowboard School and then as Vice President of Skier Services. He is uniquely suited to lead the world’s premier family luxury resort, Beaver Creek, based on his career focus in guest service, his time and experience in Eagle County, and his leadership of Stowe and across the Northeast region.

Bobby has held a number of roles across the industry, including as the Senior Director of Skier Services at Keystone, the Vice President of Resort Services at Telluride, the Director of Ski and Snowboard School at Telluride, and the Manager of Ski and Snowboard School at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. He got his start as a ski instructor at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Illinois in 1987.

A native of Evanston, Ill., Bobby received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Recreation at the University of Iowa and represented the United States, nationally and internationally, on the Professional Ski Instructor of America (PSIA) National Alpine Team from 2004-2012. Bobby is the current Vice Chair of the Vermont Ski Area Association Board of Directors and served on the SOS Outreach Board of Directors. He is married to his wife Jenny and they have two teenage daughters, Ella and Anja.

Pat Peeples

Pat managed communications and public relations for more than a decade for Vail Resorts. Subsequently, she launched Peeples Ink PR, LLC. with an emphasis on ski and golf resort communications and real estate development. Pat has worked with senior executives, entrepreneurs, general counsel, brand managers, and chief marketing officers to drive bottom line results regarding issues, projects, entitlements, launches, and crises. Pat is a native Georgian and graduate of the University of Georgia with degrees in business and journalism. She took post-graduate courses in public affairs at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Pat’s passions are skiing, golf, travel, and her native South. She lives in Edwards, Colorado with her husband Tony Vangalis.

Dan Pennington

Daniel L. Pennington serves as the President of the Vail Health Foundation and joined the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors in 2019.

Prior to Vail Health, Dan served as the Chief Philanthropy Officer at Via Christi Health, the largest provider in Kansas, and prior to that was a senior development professional at Mayo Clinic. Before joining Mayo Clinic, Dan was the Principal and Senior Consultant of his own fundraising consulting firm, Pennington & Company, Inc. based in Lawrence, Kansas.

Dan earned his BS in Journalism from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at The University of Kansas in 1989.  He completed his MA in Philanthropic Studies at the Indiana University School of Philanthropy (formerly The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University) in 2013.  He is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) from The American College of Financial Services.

Dan has always acted on his belief in the importance of giving back to the profession and his community. He has served as an active member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers (NACCDO) and NonProfit Connect (formerly The Greater Kansas City Council on Philanthropy) where he served on the Board.  Dan was also a mentor with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Douglas County, and a board member of Douglas County CASA and Douglas County Citizen Review Board Juvenile Offenders Project.  He has been active in his local churches having served as a member of the Endowment Board, Membership Committee and chairing the Pastor Search Committee.  Dan has been a board member for the Lawrence Schools Foundation and was a parent volunteer at his children’s schools in Rochester.  Dan was a member of the Leadership Lawrence Class of 2003.

Dan is married to Pamela Pennington, who works with special needs children in the public school system.  They have three daughters, Crosby, Nell and Alden.

Jill Plancher

Board Executive Committee Member

Jill Seaman Plancher is a volunteer attorney with Connecticut Legal Services in Stamford, Connecticut. As a volunteer attorney in the family law unit of legal services for the past 20 plus years, Jill has worked with hundreds of women and children to provide safety, stability and freedom from abusive relationships. In this capacity, Jill serves as a legal advisor to the Domestic Abuse Services program of the YWCA in Greenwich where she sits on the Leadership Council.

For the past 16 years, Jill has accepted appointments to serve as Guardian Ad Litem and Attorney for Minor Children in contested custody matters before the Stamford Superior Court and Regional Family Trial Docket. In 2011, Jill received the Fairfield County Bar Association’s Liberty Bell Award and the Connecticut Law Tribune’s pro bono award. In 2012, Jill received the Connecticut Bar Association’s Charles Parker Legal Services Award for her commitment to access to justice for all persons.

Early in her legal career, Jill served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Indianapolis, Indiana where she prosecuted health care fraud, corporate fraud, violent crimes, and public corruption. Jill was also an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office where she worked in the appeals bureau.  Immediately following her graduation from Harvard Law School in 1988, Jill was a Federal law clerk for the Honorable Robert E. Keeton.

In addition to her Harvard Law education, Jill holds BA from the University of Pennsylvania in International Relations. Jill is married to Dr. Kevin D. Plancher, an orthopedic surgeon, who in 1993-1994 was an Orthopedic Fellow at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic. It was during that year that Jill and Kevin fell in love with the Vail Valley and added to their family by delivering their second child Jamie at the Vail Valley Medical Center.

Jill and Kevin have owned a home in Beaver Creek since 1994 and have enjoyed summer and winter family vacations in the Vail Valley. Jill and Kevin are members of the Beaver Creek Club and Kevin is an avid tennis player. Jill has been a member of the Dance Committee for the Vail Dance Festival and she and Kevin have been generous donors to the VVF.

Jill and Kevin’s children, Brian and wife Annie, Jamie and Megan are avid skiers and call the Vail Valley their happy place.

David Salvin

Dave Salvin was a senior managing director and partner of Bankers Trust Company, which is now part of Deutsche Bank; CEO of global financial software provider IQ Financial Systems; and executive director of business development for public radio station WNYC in New York. He received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Dave is a CFA® charter-holder.

Ken Schanzer

Originally from New York, Ken Schanzer has become well known for a variety of activities in television, sporting and political arenas. Ken helped bring Notre Dame football to NBC in 1991 and later was named President of NBC Sports on June 18, 1998, where he played a key role in creating the NBC Sunday Night Football television package. From 1992-95 he was President and CEO of The Baseball Network, and previous to that he played key roles at NBC including as a Legislative Representative and as Executive Vice President of NBC Sports.

Ken first visited the Vail Valley in 1971 and made his permanent home in Beaver Creek after stepping down as President of NBC Sports in 2011. Since that time he has served on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors of the Steadman Philippon Research Institute. He has been a strong supporter of Guardian Scholars as well as Bravo! Vail, has served as Chair of the Broadcast Committee for the 2015 Alpine World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek and is an adjunct professor in the Mendoza School of Business at Notre Dame. He’s a graduate of Colgate University and the Columbia Law School.

Ken is married to Lisa Schanzer and is the father of Thomas, Lindsay, and Peter.

Adi Slifer

Adi Slifer is a proud Vail native, deeply connected to the community she calls home. She graduated from Vail Mountain School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Adi began her career in consulting in New York City, later pursuing her MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Following business school, Adi joined DaVita Healthcare, where she spent seven years with the Corporate Development team, driving strategic initiatives. Despite her career success, Adi’s heart remained in the Vail Valley. She returned to her roots to honor her father’s legacy, now serving as a broker at Slifer Smith & Frampton.

Adi resides in Arrowhead with her husband, Alex, a fellow Vail native. Together, they are raising their two young sons, Walker (4) and Preston (2), who keep life lively and full of adventure. Adi is also actively involved with Vail Health and Vail Mountain School where she serves on the Strategic Planning Committee.

Ann Smead

Board Executive Committee Member

Ann Becher Smead served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Vail Valley Foundation from Jan 1., 2017 to July 1, 2022. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Foundation since 2004 and has been involved with organization and YouthPower365 programming since the early 1990s.

Ann graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Statistics. She soon joined IBM as a systems engineer, then continued into a real estate career that culminated with her elevation to Partner in a large Portland, Oregon commercial real estate management and development company. She subsequently joined Kaiser Aerospace & Electronics Corporation, where she managed their diverse real estate portfolio.

Ann received her CCIM and IREM designations and became an instructor for these training organizations, teaching financial management courses. She taught in Eastern Europe shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, assisting with the transition from communism to free-market capitalism and democracy.

Along with her work at the Vail Valley Foundation, Ann serves on Engineering Advisory Board for the College of Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder.  She has previously served as a Board member of Vail Mountain School and Vail Health (formerly the Vail Valley Medical Center).

Ann has also established scholarship programs actively supporting students ranging from pre-school through Ph.D. studies. She also continues her work in financial management, leading several privately held LLP’s/LLC’s.

Fred Tresca

Fred M. Tresca is a CPA who also serves as the Co-founder, Principal and Managing Director of Branta II LLC and affiliates; Co-founder and Manager of AIX Energy LLC; and Member and Managing Director of The Aberdeen Organization LLC. He is married to Deborah J. Tresca and they have two boys, Blake and Clayton.

He was also Lead Financial Advisor to the Republic of Kazakhstan on the formation of the Caspian Consortium (owner of Kashagan Field, the largest oil discovery in 25 years), and Lead Financial Advisor to the Republic of Kazakhstan on the privatization of the Kumkol, Kenkiyak and Zhanazhol Oil Fields (the largest privatization in Central Asia).

Fred is the author of “Frontier Exploration” – A book on 35 emerging oil economies with analysis on the economy, oil and gas exploration and taxation.

Fred is a member or former member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, International Tax Forum of Houston, International Association of Drilling Contractors and International Association of Petroleum Negotiators.

Fred has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Foundation since 2013.

Tina Vardaman

Originally from Chicago, Tina is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Her passion for skiing first brought her to the Vail Valley in 1993, beginning a professional career and 25+ years of service to the community, including a 12-year career with the Vail Valley Foundation.  Formerly the VVF’s Vice President of Development, she oversaw fundraising for the organization’s athletic, cultural, and educational endeavors, including both the 1999 and 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships, as well as two capital campaigns for the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater.

Tina is a broker with Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate.  She lives in Wildridge with her husband Steve, Operations Manager for Eagle County Paramedic Services, and their twin daughters, Lauren and Sophie, who attend Battle Mountain High School and Vail Mountain School, respectively.  In her free time, Tina enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and hiking with her dog. She loves to take advantage of the many cultural and athletic opportunities the VVF has to offer.  She also serves on the Board of the Vail Health Foundation, and on Eagle Valley Behavioral Health’s ‘It Takes a Valley’ Campaign Committee.

Will Verity

Will serves as the CEO of Verity Investment Partners (VIP), a registered investment advisory firm that serves clients across the US. Prior to forming VIP with his wife, Paula, in 2002, Will was a founder and partner of Pathway Guidance, a business strategy consulting firm based in Cincinnati, and he previously served as founder and CEO of a technology-based product development company based in Indianapolis, IN. Will began his career as an investment banker with Alex Brown, Inc, in Baltimore, MD.

Will has served on numerous public, private and non-profit boards. He currently serves on the board of American Financial Group (NYSE: AFG), a leading provider of specialty property and casualty insurance, and he previously served on the board of Chiquita Brands, Intl. He served on the executive committee of Vail Jazz for 10 years and has served on the Vilar Performing Arts Center Committee for the past 3 years as well as the newly formed Gerald R Ford Amphitheater Committee. Will received a BA from the University of Virginia in 1981 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985.

After owning a second home in Vail Valley for 10+ years, Will and Paula (and their dog, Henry Tubbs) became Colorado residents in 2021 after acquiring their current home in Lake Creek. They also own a home in Beaufort, SC where they spend the shoulder seasons. Will loves everything about Colorado and enjoys skiing and “skinning” in the winter as well as mountain biking, fly fishing, golf and hiking in the summer.

VIP offers a holistic approach to investment management that encompasses financial planning, investment strategy and ongoing portfolio management. The firm specializes in structuring dividend growth investment solutions designed to deliver targeted levels of annual income and income growth while keeping principal intact to grow long-term. The investment income can be used to replace earned income or it can be reinvested as additional savings. VIP has approximately $1.2 billion of assets under management as of November 2024 and has offices in Colorado, South Carolina, Massachusetts and Texas. VIP was recently named by Worth Magazine as one of the top 300 Registered Investment Advisors in the US out of approximately 40,000 RIAs that the magazine analyzed.

Nick Waugh

Nick is a Managing Director at Global Infrastructure Partners, a part of BlackRock.  He is an Operating Partner across BlackRock’s infrastructure focused private equity funds.  Previously, Nick was a Partner at McKinsey and Company and co-founded their office in Denver in 2014.  He was a Partner in McKinsey’s Energy Practice and led the Firm’s North American Implementation Practice, a practice of 300+ consultants that helped clients successfully translate their strategies to realized financial impact. 

Originally from South Carolina, Nick, his wife Lissie and their three daughters have been in Colorado since 2009.  They moved to the Vail Valley permanently in 2020 and have been excited to be involved in the VVF since landing here.

He joined the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors on July 1, 2022.

Tina Wilson

Tina Wilson has lived in Vail since 1989, when she moved to the mountains to work as a ski instructor after graduating from St. Lawrence University. She then earned a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado and went on to work as a kindergarten teacher at Vail Mountain School. After starting a family, she transitioned to being a full-time mother and volunteer. Tina’s husband David has been a ski and snowboard instructor for 35 years, and they have two daughters who were born and raised in Vail.

Tina’s love of the valley and our community has led her to support many local non-profit organizations. Through their gifting to the Vail Valley Foundation, Tina and David established the Carol F. Storr Endowment for Classical Ballet, in honor of Tina’s mother’s love of the art form, ensuring classical ballet always features at the Vail Dance Festival. Tina’s support also includes the Wilson Family Performing Arts Scholarship, aiding local college-bound students. Tina and David also helped found the Shaw at Home program at Vail Health, which allows patients to receive palliative care in their homes. In addition, Tina and David are significant supporters of the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, helping to start an endowment aimed at covering 100 percent of operating costs, strengthening the local non-profit’s financial assistance to locals suffering from medical crises.

Gary Woodworth

Gary Woodworth moved from San Diego to the Vail Valley in 1980 and has been with the Gallegos Corporation for more than 30 years.  He worked his way to President/CEO and Partner, starting his tenure at Gallegos running one division, then moving to overseeing multiple operating units, before becoming Chief Operating Officer. Other Board of Directors affiliations include HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley, as well as the Vail Valley Partnership.

Gary has served on the Vail Valley Foundation Board of Directors since 2016 and is a member of its education committee.

Gary and his wife Dacia enjoy time on their small ranch south of Gypsum, high country horseback riding and time with family.

Kristy Woolfolk

Kristy Woolfolk joined the Vail Valley Foundation Board in 2018. She and her husband Bill moved to the Valley in 2012, splitting their time between Beaver Creek and Chicago. Before this they were frequent visitors at her family’s long-time Beaver Creek home.

Kristy serves as the President of the Frechette Family Foundation. She is passionate about Philanthropy and has been active in many Chicago charitable organizations, including Sarah’s Circle, Heartland Alliance and Reading Is Fundamental, to name a few.

In the Vail Valley Kristy currently serves on the Roundup River Ranch Board of Directors and as co-Chair of the Roundup River Ranch Advisory Council. In addition she is also a member of Elon University’s President’s Advisory Council.

Kristy and Bill have two adult sons, Tucker and Spencer. They formerly lived in Chicago, and now live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
